What it does: Adds the store to the portal within the plan’s store limit (1 for Companion, 3 for Growth, unlimited for Agency) and proves ownership. How to access: Two ways, both end at the same place.

• With the plugin (recommended): in the portal, add the store and choose “The Inclusive Forge plugin for WordPress” as the way to prove ownership. Install the free Inclusive Forge plugin on the live store, open Settings > Inclusive Forge and paste the Site token and the Webhook secret from the Companion plugin panel on the Accessibility statement screen of the portal (the button “Connect the companion plugin” there creates the webhook secret the first time), then press Save Changes. The plugin prints the verification tag on every page of the store. In the portal, press “Check the proof now”; once the proof is confirmed, press “Start the first scan”.
• From the portal: add the store in the portal and choose how to prove ownership: the plugin’s tag, the tag added by hand, or the file.

Notes: Pasting the Site token and the Webhook secret into a store that was never connected needs plugin 1.3.2 or newer: on 1.3.0 and 1.3.1 the plugin refuses the first paste. Those two versions have a “Licence key (optional)” field instead: paste the licence key that Avakode sent by e-mail there and press “Connect this site”, and the token and the secret fill in by themselves. From 1.3.2 the plugin has no key field; a store that was connected with a key stays connected. The Site token alone is enough for the verification tag and the statement; the Webhook secret is what lets the plugin receive the last-scan summary and ask for a re-test. A local or staging address cannot be connected (the service audits public storefronts): connect the live store. To disconnect a store from the plugin (version 1.3.2 has no Disconnect button), open Settings > Inclusive Forge, clear the Site token field and press Save Changes: the plugin stops printing the verification tag, and the screen says there is no site token yet. This only changes the plugin on that site; it does not remove the store from the portal.
